spk_0 Hi, I'm Chris McKenna, and along with my co-host, Kathy Conroy, we want to welcome you to
spk_0 our series of podcasts on the first 50 years of American history.
spk_0 Hi, Chris.
spk_0 I am so excited about the launch of these podcasts.
spk_0 You and I realize that many people have not had the opportunity to learn enough about the
spk_0 early history of America.
spk_0 And our goal with these podcasts is to both educate and entertain listeners on what we believe
spk_0 is the most exciting and the most impactful period of American history.
spk_0 The approximate 50 years from the colonies during the early 1760s to the signing of the
spk_0 treaty again in 1814 when we finally kicked the British out for the last time.
spk_0 I agree, Kathy.
spk_0 There's just no other time like this in our history regarding the personalities, their
spk_0 courage, their incredible intellect, and their ability to create what is now the longest
spk_0 lasting republic, and how unique our federal republic is.
spk_0 And the more we understand our history, the better citizens will all become of this great
spk_0 country.
spk_0 While you may initially be interested in listening to a podcast on a particular topic or event,
spk_0 the episodes are numbered in chronological order, and we hope you have the chance to
spk_0 listen to them all.
spk_0 And please, let us hear your comments in what other areas of our history you would like
spk_0 to hear more about.
